"Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing left to add but when there is nothing left to take away."

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Aurisina is a village on the Adriatic coast a few kilometres from Gorizia, known for the extraction of a special quality of marble.

From the time of the Romans, the quarry workers would let huge blocks of stone slide to the sea on large lead plates where they would get embarked and sent to the stonemason masters in the cities of the Empire.

The NOE is derived from marble blocks of Aurisina Caves consisting of a bottom, of modular parts that form the container walls and a lid.

The components are polished, they have no sharp edges internally to allow, after dismantling, an easy and thorough cleaning and a simple storage.

Appropriate filling and emptying holes make the NOE’s functions quite similar to any other barrel, in addition, thanks to its modularity, pre-setting its capacity, it can be adapted to the needs of the cellar even in relation to the vintage.

Marble is hygienic, breathable, inert and imperceptible with respect to the liquid contained in it, it protects the vinification and ripening of wine from bacterial contamination, intrusion of wood components and roasting of stalks.

Calcium carbonate, a constituent of stone, is a widespread element in everyday use: we drink it in tap water, it is present in toothpaste and is widely used in food production.
